Motors are power devices that provide the actual speed and torque in a drive system. Dc motors are mostly used in variable speed and torque applications requiring industrial and other applications. Dc motors consisting of a rotor and a permanent magnetic field stator. The magnetic field is maintained using either permanent magnets or electromagnetic windings for use in variable speed and torque applications. Dc gear-motor consists of a rotor and a permanent magnetic fields stator and an integral gearbox or gear-head. The magnetic field is maintained using either permanent magnets or electromagnetic windings.
brushed dc motors have built-in commutation, meaning that as the motor rotates, mechanical brushes automatically commutate coils on the rotor. Brush-less dc motors uses an external power drive to allow commutation of the coils on the stator. Dc motors are configured in spectrum types and diameter sizes, torque output and power rating specifications.
