An interface board is basically a board which has been designed to serve as an 'interface' circuit between the automatic testing equipment (ate), and the device under test (dut). Interface boards are also equipped with the necessary components to set up the dut to be correctly tested by the ate and then send response signals between the dut and the ate , and also provide additional testing capabilities that may not be provided by the ate. An ideal interface board is characterized as causing no noise delays nor errors to the testing process of the dut. Interface boards are also often custom made for specific devices or group of devices.
