A waterproof coating is non-toxic and is insoluble in water, providing a lasting protective coating against water and pollutants. Waterproof coatings seal the surface from liquid water and from water vapor; they usually are opaque, such as bituminous coatings and some paints. These water proof coatings are primarily used on non-traffic surfaces and vertical applications. There are many types of waterproof coating categories designed for specific applications. There are acrylic polymer elastomeric coatings, silicone based elastomeric coatings, cementitious coatings, epoxy coatings, etc. All of these water proof coatings are available in a wide range of standard colors and custom colors can be made if required. Waterproof coatings can be effective in eliminating water infiltration through brick, concrete, masonry block, wood and other types of construction materials.
