A wide variety of mechanical safety and security equipment like two hand safety modules, ultra-hard materials machining, safeguard machines and systems, safety controllers and many other devices are available in the market nurturing the needs of industrial buyers. A safety module which is intended to be used in an oil or gas production installation and to be lowered to a required depth with an electrically operable tool connected thereto, and which comprises a housing, a pressure sensitive switch and a temperature sensitive switch in the housing which are adapted to switch at predetermined pressure and temperature values respectively, in which the pressure sensitive switch and the temperature sensitive switch only allow an electrical command signal to be conveyed to the tool when the pressure and temperature both reach the predetermined pressure and temperature values. A safety module for use in an oil or gas production installation and intended to be lowered to a required depth with an electrically operable tool connected thereto, said module comprising: housing; a pressure sensitive switch in the housing for switching at a predetermined pressure value; and a temperature sensitive switch in the housing for switching at a predetermined temperature value; wherein said pressure sensitive switch and said temperature sensitive switch only allow an electrical command signal to be conveyed to the tool when the pressure and temperature both reach the predetermined pressure and temperature values. An ultra-hard material comprising at least three elements and having a knoop hardness of at least 25 gpa and the formula: rx oy nz having a crystallographic structure in which the average anion co-ordination number is 6 or more and wherein: r is an element selected from the group consisting of titanium, hafnium, zirconium, tantalum, niobium and tungsten, x is an integer from 1 to 3, y is an integer from 0 to 5, and z is an integer from 0 to 5, provided y and z cannot both be zero. Examples of such ultra-hard materials are taon and tazro3n. A basic module 2 has operation program storing part for prescribing the relation between the state of a safety input signal to be fetched from external input terminal sections and the state of a safety output signal to be transmitted to external output terminal sections for each type of predetermined safety switches.
