Pressure Sensitive Adhesives
|
Pressure sensitive adhesives (psa) adhere to most surfaces with very slight pressure. Pressure sensitive adhesive form viscoelastic bonds that are aggressively and permanently sticky. The psa are often based on non cross linked rubber adhesives, acrylics and polyurethane. On a non cross linked rubber, pressure sensitive adhesive in a latex emulsion or solvent borne form. Psa and contact adhesive are available in a wide range of chemical compositions. Some types of chemical composition available are acrylic and methacrylate adhesives, rubber-based psa, styrene copolymers (sis / sbs), and silicones. Psas are available in different varieties of bond strengths. Cetain types of psas are removable or allow repositioning without leaving any adhesive. Manufacturers serve a variety of industries with their varied types of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes according to their requirements. These pressure sensitive adhesives are used in pharmaceuticals, medical diagnostics, industries, electronics, pulp and paper and many more. However these adhesives are also useful for domestic and other commercial purposes.
