The process of controlling noise pollution known as acoustic installation is also called as soundproofing. It is very essential in places where the sound levels are considerably high. It is said to be employee-friendly. This is done for various purposes like protection against sound pollution, as a hearing protection device and also to maintain confidentiality of certain issues (in conference halls). This can be made available in various ways for acoustic home insulation, acoustic sound insulation and acoustic thermal insulation. It does not reduce the sound, but does so with its intensity. There are several basic approaches to reducing sound: increasing the distance between source and receiver, using noise barriers to block or absorb the energy of the sound waves, using dampening structures such as sound baffles, or using active antinoise sound generators. Acoustic insulation has two kinds of effects on the sounds, either it reduces it, or absorbs it. Noise reduction simply blocks the passage of sound waves through the use of distance and intervening objects in the sound path. Noise absorption, on the other hand, operates by transforming the sound wave. Noise absorption involves suppressing echoes, reverberation, resonance and reflection.
