Waste chemicals are collected, packaged, and transported using lab-packs, which is an open-headed drum, packed with compatible materials or with small quantities of specific chemicals. These items are packed in a safe layer using a suitable packing material, which acts as an insulator, buffer and absorbent. A lab-pack is self-contained, sealed and secured by a lid, ring and bolt. Each chemical waste in a lab pack is inventoried including generic name, container size, actual volume and container type and chemical group.
