Detergents are formulated products used to remove dirt and stains from laundry, dishes, carpets, upholstery, floors and any other surface that needs cleaning. The chemicals used in detergents are surfactants, builders, inorganic salts, oxidizers or bleaches, enzymes and numerous miscellaneous ingredients used in detergents. These are examined as to their specific chemical components and their producers. These chemicals required for diverge functions and contain ingredients like degreasing agents, descaling agents, decarbonising agents, lancquer, varnish and paint remover, cleaning and brightening chemicals, and dewatering chemicals. Surfactants like softanol and ethanol are used in detergent to reduce the surface tension of water when used in very low concentration. The chemicals include alkylbenzenes, carboxymethylcellulose, cellulose ethers, citric acid, ethyl alcohol, fatty acids, methylcellulose, paraffin, polyacrylic acids etc. Chemicals used for dry cleaning detergents are such as alkaline builders, oxygen bleach de-stainer, alkaline silicate builders, chlorine bleach an sanitizing agents, liquid anti-chlor, liquid enzyme based surfactant like mediterge and cationic dry cleaning detergent with moisture & anti-static agents.
