Liquefied Petroleum Gas

Today most of the homes or house cook food on gas as cooking on stoves has become an old fashion as well as old trend but was used since from ancient age with the use of kerosene. Cooking is an art which encourages the taste and preparation made by the women who is considered to be perfect chef of the entire house. The most common element used for cooking today is gas which is also called as lpg which means liquefied petroleum gas. Lpg is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases which are commonly used as a fuel in heating appliance as well as in the vehicles. Liquefied petroleum gas is very commonly used as aerosol propellant as it is synthesized by refining of petroleum and is usually derived from fossil fuels.

A household name for this liquefied petroleum gas is known as cylinders which are used as a power source of heat and power technologies called as chp which is process of generating electrical power and also is useful for heating from single fuel source. Liquefied petroleum gas mainly used in motors, refrigerators and for cooking purposes. Keeping in mind protection of environment lpg however releases less amount of carbon dioxide which does not affect much to the environment as it is a mixture of propane and butane it emits less amount of carbon and also releases few amount of particulates when it is burnt.

The advantages of lpg are that it is widely used and is very much available and as it enters the engine as a vapor it does not wash of the oil off cylinder walls and also do not push the carbon particles or sulfuric acid into the oil. Disadvantage of this liquefied petroleum gas is that the energy content compared to gasoline needs a much of bigger tank with which it becomes heavier and strong enough. Liquefied petroleum gas consists of following elements which are propane, propylene, isobutene and butene.
