By nature helium gas is a colorless, odourless, tasteless inert gas that is lighter that air. One second to hydrogen helium gas is the most abundant element in the universe. Helium is also found in many radioactive minerals as a decaying product. Among the industrial sector helium gas is used for a number of purposes like it is used as an inert gas shield in arc welding, as a protective gas in growing silicon and germanium crystals and in titanium and zirconium production. Helium gas is also used as a cooling medium for nuclear reactors. By fusing 80% helium and 20% oxygen an artificial atmosphere is created for divers and those working under pressure. More recently helium gas is also being used for pressurizing liquid fuel for rockets.
