Band saws use a continuous saw blade. Chip removal is rapid, because each tooth is a precision cutting tool and accuracy can be held to close tolerances eliminating or minimizing many secondary-machining operations. It is mostly suited for steel service centers because of the array of grades, shapes, and specialization handled by the service center, a saw must be all-purpose and band saw, with a few exceptions, can do almost everything.
