Fluosilicic acid is the colorless inorganic acid that is selectively applied in different industries for its chemical properties. This inorganic acid has sour and pungent odor and is a fairly strong acid that is soluble in hot and cold water. Due to its typical chemical properties it is effective in the water fluoridation and in the preliminary treatment of the hides and skins. This impregnating fluosilicic acid is suitable to preserve wood and to harden masonary. Far from these applications, this fluosilicic acid is preferred for the sterilizing equipment in brewing and bottling establishments. Different concentration of this fluosilicic acid is taken for electrolytic refining of lead, crumbling lime or brickwork and to remove molds. In the ceramics for increasing hardness and in technical paints and in the manufacturing of hydrogen fluoride this inorganic chemical is essential. Because of its versatility this acid is also applied in the process of electroplating as fluosilicic acid is very good agent for chromium.
