Metallic gaskets are used in conditions that involve extreme pressure and temperature, and where nonmetallic gaskets cannot be used. If the temperature of the product in operation exceeds 250,000 in terms of °f, metal gaskets should be used. Even for temperatures under -65 °f and above 850 °f, and for pressures above 1,200 psi. Metallic gaskets are also used in conditions with vacuum below 10-4 torr and radiation above 108 .Today we have a variety of metallic gaskets to chose from. Metallic gaskets are being manufactured in various types to suit the customers needs. The various types are, spiral wound gaskets, corrugated gaskets, flat metal gaskets, heat exchanger gaskets, jacketed gaskets, and ring joint gaskets.
