Gypsum is a soft mineral composed of calcuim sulfate dehydrate. Commercial quantity of gypsum is available all over the world. A growing source of this chemical compound is from flue gas desulfurization, that is done by using finely ground limestone, which reacts with sulfure dioxide to produce high-purity gypsum as a by-product. Gypsum can be cast into various shapes including sheets for drywall, sticks for blackboard chalk and molds to mobilize broken bones or for metal casting. Small amount of calcined gypsum are added to earth to create strong structures directly from cast earth. This chemical material is used to improve the mineral content of brewing water in the beverage industries. Pharmaceutical industries serves the people by making medicines with gypsum and food proccessing units provide consumers this as a dietary cacium additive. In agricultural soil amandment and for solidifying earth this chemical material is helpful. For the manufacturing of toothpase, plaster(a construction material) and paint fillers, this inorganic material is widely applied.
