Hydrogen (h) is a non-metal element. Hydrogen is very reactive so it can react with most elements. Chemical properties of hydrogen are colorless and have no smell. Hydrogen is the most abundant of all elements in the universe. On earth, hydrogen occurs chiefly in combination with oxygen in water, but it is also present in organic matter such as living plants, petroleum, coal, etc. Hydrogen is used in the manufacture of hydrochloric acid; it is also used in the wielding process, and in the reduction of metallic ores. Large quantities of hydrogen are needed in the chemical and petroleum industries. Pollution-free hydrogen could replace natural gas, gasoline, etc., and could serve as a reducing agent in metallurgy, chemical processing, refining, etc. Hydrogen is the lightest element and thus is also regarded as the lifting agent for balloons and airships. Hydrogen has the highest energy content than any of the fuel but low energy content by volume yet hydrogen is used as fuel for some vehicles. The vehicles that use hydrogen gas as a fuel are pollution free and efficient. The vehicles that can run on hydrogen can include buses, trains, phb bicycle, cargo bikes, golf carts, motorcycles, wheelchairs, ships, airplanes, submarines, high-speed cars, and rockets. Nasa also uses hydrogen as a fuel to launch space shuttles. Hydrogen is also a energy carrier like electricity which is not use today but can be used in near future as as the hydrogen energy can be produced from variety of resources like water, fossils fuels, biomass, etc., as a byproductd and can be stored for future use. Hydrogen is also used in food items like margarine, cookies, etc.
