Magnesium sulphate is a chemical compound of magnesium. This inorganic chemical is colorless or white having bitter, saline and cooling taste, which is highly soluble in water and glycerol. This sulphate of magnesium is available in the market with different grades that includes reagent, u.S.P and technical. In agriculture and gardening, this chemical material is used to correct magnesium (the essential element in chlorophyll molecule) deficiency in soil. This magnesium supplement is commonly applied to potted plants or to magnesium hungry crops such as potatoes, roses and tomatoes. The advantage of magnesium sulfate over other magnesium soil amendments is its high solubility. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is commonly used as a drying agent in organic synthesis due to its ability to become dehydrated.
