Zinc sulphate is colorless water-soluble powder made by reacting zinc with sulphuric acid. Its historical name is "white vitriol", and its chemical formula is znso4. This chemical zinc sulphate is to be preserved in cool, dry and ventilated place; it is stable at normal temperatures and pressures. Zinc sulphate is used in medicines to treat wounds and also for cell growth and tissue repairs. Zinc sulphate can be used in the eye as an astringent to relieve over production of tears. They can be particularly useful in those suffering from eye infections, in which watery eyes can be a problem. It is also used in the manufacturing of viscose rayon fiber. But there are necessary precautions to be taken while using it. It is also used in the production of zinc stearate in which it is the ideal source of zinc. It is used in varnishes. It also is used in production of pigments, preservation and clarification of glue, in flame proofing compounds, as a mining flotation agent, in wood preservatives, in electro metallurgy and electro galvanizing. It has numerous industrial applications and can also be used in place of zinc oxide. It is used as a mordant or to preserve wood or for the electrodeposition of zinc. It also is used in production of fungicide. It also is used in flotation of ores, electroplating and surface treatment also. This chemical zinc sulphate is used in the production of medicines. It is widely used in paint industry, chemical industry and pharmaceutical industry etc. It also has some agricultural application. In farms it is used as a weed killer and to give protection against pests. It is also used on crops such as pecans, deciduous fruits, peanuts, cotton, corn and vegetables. It is also used to supply zinc in an animal's diet. It also acts as fertilizer and also used in agricultural spray. These sprays are of special quality and are made to kill the insects that destroy the crops. In this way we can say that zinc sulphate is very poisonous. These are some of the various uses of zinc sulphate.
