Hydrin is a good oil and solvent resistant and has similar features of nitrile and neoprene. Ketones, esters, aldehydes and such other elements attack hydrin. Hydrin requires temperature between -50º f to -225º f. Hydrin is used in the application that have some chemical compatibility issues. Hydrin improves the performance of a variety of products. Their mechanical properties are very much like natural rubber and include many of the desirable properties of nitrile, polychloroprene, polysulfide and polyacrylic rubbers. The advantages of hydrin are they are, good resistance to oil and solvent, good ozone weathering and water resistance, offers much less torsional stiffness at sub zero temperatures, exhibiting most of the better qualities of nitrile and neoprene. Hydrin is used in pharmaceutical industry, rubber industry, detergent industry, chemical industry etc.
