Hydrofluosilicic acid (h2sif6) is an unstable corrosive liquid that is primarily known in the forms of salts. Hydrofluosilicic acid is a by-product of the fertilizer manufacturing plants that contains lead, arsenic; mercury and silico fluoride compounds and is aqueous water white to straw yellow solution. Hydrofluosilicic acid is commonly used in fluoridating chemicals. Fluorosilicic acid, hexafluosilicic acid and silicofluoricic acid are the other names for hydrofluosilicic acid. Due to fluoridation chemical and ease in feeding hydrofluosilicic acid is regarded as the best in various water treatment plants. However, hydrofluosilicic acid can be expensive to ship since it is a liquid and is heavier than the other fluoridation chemicals. Hydrofluosilicic acid is used in fertilizer industry, chemical industry, agriculture industry, etc. Hydrofluosilicic acid is also used in sterilization of equipment, electroplating, tanning of animal hides, ceramics and glass: glass etching, commercial laundry: as a neutralizer for alkalis, hardening of cement and oil, rust and stain removal for textiles, wood preservative and water fluoridation.
