Nickel is a high profile corrosion free metal and has a wide applications in most corrosive environments. Nickel alloy remains resilient in the most corrosive environments such as in chemical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper production, waste treatment and the recovery of "sour" natural gas. The applications in air-pollution including stack liners, ducts, dampers, scrubbers, stack-gas reheaters, fans and fan housings. The nickel alloy is used in flue gas desulfurization systems due to its excellent resistance to the sulfur compounds and chloride ions encountered in most scrubbers. In chemical processing, the alloy is used for numerous components including heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporators and transfer piping. In sour gas wells those containing hydrogen sulfide, nickel alloy delivers a high level of performance in various downhole and surface components including those with as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated organic and inorganic media, chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride and seawater and brine solutions.
