Hypochlorous acid (hocl) is a weak but strongly oxidizing acid and is produced by the reaction of chlorine and water, it is used as a bleaching agent, disinfectant, and chlorinating agent. Although hypochlorus acid readily reacts with pathogens in water, correct use is essential for maximum effectiveness and safety. Hypochlorous acid is the compound of chlorine, which does all the disinfecting, and oxidizing which is used for water treatment such as surface purification, bleaching, odor removal and water disinfection.
