Petroleum and petroleum products have placed distinct in the average sphere of the world. They range from gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, heavy oils, asphalt, bunker, kerosene etc. They often used as fuel in large automobile and railway, industry applications. Kerosene is used as an illuminant, but is used extensively throughout the world in cooking and space heating and is the primary fuel for modern engines. When burned as a domestic fuel, kerosene produces a flame free of smoke and odour. Asphaltic bitumen is widely used for the construction of roads and airfields. Highly purified naphthas are used for solvents in paints, cosmetics, commercial dry cleaning, and industrial product manufacture. Petroleum waxes are employed in paper manufacture and foodstuffs. Furnish oils consists of residues from crude oil refining. They are blended with gas oil fractions in order to achieve the viscosity for convenient handling. Gas oil like diesel is used as fuel for powering automobile, truck, bus, and railway engines.
