A great recycle craft! the oldest art forms in history, papier mache, is the ultimate recyclers dream.The term papier mache comes from the french phrase meaning "chewed paper." you can use papier mache to make pinatas, masks, jewelry, and lots of other crafts. Papier mache is made from newspapers and paste. Projects are easy to make, but can take several days to complete, so be sure to allow enough time. Papier mache or paper mache is used in the production of various objects and sculptures of extreme lightness, delicacy and strength. Papiermache is a construction material consisting pieces of paper, sometimes reinforced with textiles, stuck together using a wet paste e.G. Glue, starch or wallpaper adhesive. Since ancient times, this handicraft is used in making products such as papier mache doll, papiermache mask, puppets, toy, and decorations. You can make your own ornaments or other fun projects using recycled papers. You can use newspaper, stationary, gift-wrap, or any paper you have left over. Once you make the mixture using one of the three recipes below, form the paper mache into shapes, let it dry, and paint it!
for large items or particular shapes you can make the insides hollow by using cartons, cans, styrofoam or an air filled balloons on the inside, then forming your shapes around it! balloons are particularly good for making ornaments that you would like to be shaped like a ball. Layering is the most common sort of paper mache or paper mache, where strips are soaked in glue and added to a mould layer by layer. Newspaper is fine for most layered papier machc projects, but it is fairly acidic paper, and can break down after a long time. Used paper and envelopes, japanese papers, wrapping paper, and other papers can all be used, but they might be more expensive. If you're making something big, the pieces of paper can be quite large too. If you're making something small, like a bracelet, you can use quite tiny pieces of paper.
