Rolling oil is used in hot- and cold-rolling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to facilitate feed of the metal between the work rolls, improve the plastic deformation of the metal, conduct heat from the metal, and extend the life of the work rolls. Oil content of the chemical compound emulsions typically has ranges and has to be kept within tight limits. In addition to mineral or synthetic oils, the fluids contain emulsifiers. This petroleum product is used for automotive metals and again suitable for spray application. Oil for the cold rolling of copper and copper alloys is generally a commercial rolling oil consisting of a low-viscosity mineral oil to which fatty alcohol and fatty acid is added as an oiliness agent. This cleaner additive and rolling oil is engineered to be used with sulphuric tank for accelerating removal of oxides and heat scale after annealing. This anti staining agent is added to the rinse tank, which leaves mono molecular film that protects copper and brass against staining, tarnishing and corrosion.
